Exodus is filled with such intrigue that Hollywood keeps coming back to tell it’s story. From Charlton Heston’s The Ten Commandments to the animated Prince of Egypt to the recent Exodus starring Christian Bale, people want to bring this story to the big screen. Conflict, murder, escape, divine calling, slavery, kings, plagues, deliverance, failure, redemption, glory. This powerful drama captures the imagination and emotion of all who engage it.
Most importantly, Exodus is an encounter with God. God listens. God promises. God rescues. God provides. God guides. In God’s redemption of Israel and relationship to his people, we see God’s character on display. God’s gives the hope of freedom to captives.
In this series, we will see how much Exodus has to teach us about God’s grace and redemption of broken people. We will discover that God has given us an even greater grace. We will see ourselves in the faults and failures of the Israelites, and we will see that we can trust our gracious God. Through it all, we will see God’s sovereign acts in human history to work for his glory and for the good of his people.
